Designed by Atelier Alinea for the 150th anniversary of the Stadtgärtnerei Basel, Basilea was intended to incorporate all the qualities of a piece of furniture in a public park. It is weatherproof, vandal-proof, inexpensive, yet beautifully designed and versatile.

Since the public festivities, Basilea can be found in various parks and private gardens around Basel.
 

It has become a popular icon for everyone: Made of a 80-centimetre-deep and 75-centimetre-high endless steel band, it is both a chair with a backrest and a table with a stool. Put two together and create a larger table. Arrange several pieces together for an outdoor workshop.

In that sense, Basilea is a real eclectic: play with it or take a break on it, have a meal or a chat. Be creative!
