Our furniture are made fully knowing that consumption and need for material will have to be reduced in intelligent ways. This goal is to be reached without reducing the life-time or quality of the goods, on the contrary, the items should last longer while requiring less materials.

Our global community new has a mind set of sustainability, and in this context, manufacturing disposable products no longer makes any sense. And neither does using high density of materials in the pursuit of quality, it's clever construction that is in demand. With this standard, we have interpreted a series of functional furniture, which are being produced since more than 20 years already.

History

atelier ALINEA AG was founded in 1993 by Werner Abt. The fabrication enterprise emerged from ALINEA AG, a mercantile enterprise also founde by Werner Abt in 1973, specialising in funishing offices and large working spaces, as well as office planning and interior architecture.

atelier ALINEA AG wants to emphasize innovative ideas for furniture and the realisation thereof. We want to bring self-reliant pieces created in-house but also by external designers into office- and living spaces.

The international outlook makes it possible to sell product via a design oriented net of specialised dealers domestically and aboard. The featured furniture are to be always relevant to our society, and witness its debate. Heimberg near Thun has been the location of choice for its proximity to a tight net of qualifity providers with the required know how to develop and launch new products and techniques.



Code of Conduct of atelier ALINEA AG

 

With the Code of Conduct presented here, we have committed ourselves, our employees and the management to ensuring that atelier ALINEA AG acts within the framework of the law and the rules of fairness and and social responsibility. We call upon all employees and our business partners to act according to this Code of Conduct along with us and make it an identifying feature of atelier ALINEA AG.

 

This code of conduct is based on national laws and regulations as well as international conventions, such as the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UNICEF Guidelines on Children's Rights and Business Principles, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as the international standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). We expect our supplier companies to comply with all relevant laws and regulations as well as all international standards mentioned above.

 

Social responsibility

 

Human rights are an important achievement to protect individuals against overpowering organisations and institutions. We respect and uphold the international human rights and promote abidance by them within our sphere of influence.

 

Our company is a social organism, in which all members act of their own accord and contribute to its success. Within this community, each individual is granted maximum freedom in order to realize their full potential.

 

We preclude all forms of forced labour. We promote  and nurture human capital by creating employment opportunities and the best possible training and education opportunities. We ensure that our employees are aware of our mission and act accordingly.

 

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the minimum age for children to be admitted to work is 15 years (end of compulsory education). Switzerland has ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1997 and has since participated in the ILO's Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC), which was established in 1991. We respect this regulation and ensure that our business partners also comply with it.

 

Discrimination is defined as any distinction, exclusion or preference based on race, colour, sex, religion, political opinion, national or social origin, which affects equal treatment in employment and education. We preclude all discrimination as defined above, and apply sanctions in the event of a violation of this principle.

 

Environmental protection

 

atelier ALINEA AG and its business partners act in accordance with all legal norms and international standards with regard to the environment. Pollution and the threats it poses to humans, animals and ecosystems are avoided as best as possible. Our measures of environmental protection are improved continuously.

 

We and our business partners are constantly working to improve their contribution to climate protection, by increasing energy efficiency or purchasing energy from renewable sources, for example.

 

Fighting corruption

 

We make it very clear that our actions must comply with and are committed to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. We reject all forms of corruption; bribes are neither offered nor accepted. We observe the rules of ethical business and expect a high level of individual integrity from our employees.

 

We and our business partners act in accordance with national and international competition laws and the principles of fairness. Neither party will engage in price gouging, market or customer allocation or other agreements that distort competition. The intellectual property rights of others will be respected by our business partners. We and our business partners will comply with the relevant export control and customs regulations.

 

Validity

 

The atelier ALINEA AG Code of Conduct is valid in perpetuity and can only be amended by a joint resolution of the owner and the management. Any amendment must be in accordance with the values and objectives underlying this Code of Conduct and must be sufficiently communicated.
